Wednesday, March 5, 2025, 10:00AMCalling all able bodies to come assist in clearing the equestrian trail(s) at Springhill Road, FR 362. The tornados last May did their best to make a mess of our trails. Forestry has promised to provide the heavy equipment so just bring loppers, hand saws, gloves, ATV, UTV or horse. Don’t forget to bring water, trail munchies too and whatever else you need. You have to be “chainsaw certified” to operate chainsaws in the National Forest. Directions to trailhead: From Tallahassee go south on Springhill Road off Capital Circle N.W. for 6.8 miles to a flashing light marking a trail crossing. Almost immediately after the flashing caution light, turn left on Forest Road 362. Follow it for about 0.75 miles until you get to a large turn-around in the road. There are parking slots to your left. Directions from Wakulla County: Go north on Springhill Road, cross the bridge over Fisher Creek and turn right at the next forest road (Forest Road 362) before the caution light.
